It’s the system in which the government itself appoints the officials as opposed to one where the people elect them. There are several similar terms, such as the Marxist-Leninist system that appoints its officials rather than officials directly being elected by the voters. Or the oligarchy where political power is concentrated in a small group of elitists. Or authoritarianism in which political power is concentrated in a leader or ruling group with limited public participation.
Kim Amontree, who jumped from one campaign to the next, has demonstrated that she is not a conservative. She just pays campaign strategists to market her as one. Just months after she was re(s)elected in 2024 to the school board, she put a stick in the eyes of her constituents in District 2 who had voted for her when she then turned around and immediately ran for commissioner in District 4.
This forced Governor DeSantis to have to appoint a new person for seat 2 on the school board, and by that Kim Amontree robbed the voters of their right to elect their representative for that district. That is one way to indirectly steal an election, but it is not consistent with conservative ideology. Rather, it’s consistent with authoritarian Marxist-Leninist ideology where voters may vote, but their vote is meaningless since the ruling elite determines who holds political power.
Do get out and vote, but No Vote for Kim Amontree who runs, and runs away.
